Increasing Website Efficiency

Do you run a successful website? How about this question then: is it run as efficiently as possible? While you might be tempted to suggest that it is, I’d counter this with the fact that most websites on the Internet today are not anywhere near as effective as they should be, lacking in areas of usability from tools such as live chat. Let’s explore some of the factors for this failing.

Speed and readability – Both of these are issues that need to be addressed if you’re hoping to maintain a successful website, you need to be absolutely sure that the site visitors are coming away finding the information they’re looking for. So information and the context of said information, is critical. The second piece to the user experience puzzle is verifying that the information provided is offered a way that makes sense. Is it readable? If you’re talking about a subject that is lesser known to most people, have you provided a link or an explanation to explain things further. This is an issue that simply must be addressed.

Next, there is the issue of website loading speed and server reliability. If either of things are an issue, then this means the efficiency of your website is taking a hit in the eyes of the site visitor. It is critical that you’re running a website on a server configuration that can handle the resource demands you’re throwing at it. Ignoring this, will cost you ranking with popular search engines and eventually, your site visitors will go elsewhere.

Customer accessibility is also important. If you’re running an eCommerce website, then you will want to make sure that live chat / click to call is an option that your potential customers are provided. Offering the site visitors a live chat option shows them that you’re serious about gaining their business and potentially, making a sale with them. In short, the ability to live chat with your website visitors has the ability to turn potential customers into actual customers.

And there you have it. Follow the advice above and not only will you find your website performing better in the search engine results, but you’ll also experience an increase of improved feedback and customers as an added bonus, too.
